Day 1: Secret Lagoon & Northern Lights Hunt
Iceland
Iceland is a Nordic island country in the North Atlantic, with a population of 360,390 and an area of 103,000 km2 (40,000 sq mi), making it the most sparsely populated country in Europe. The capital and largest city is Reykjavík, with Reykjavík and the surrounding areas in the southwest of the country being home to over two-thirds of the population. Iceland is volcanically and geologically active. The interior consists of a plateau characterised by sand and lava fields, mountains, and glaciers, and many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Iceland is warmed by the Gulf Stream and has a temperate climate, despite a high latitude almost entirely outside the Arctic Circle. Its high latitude and marine influence keep summers chilly, with most of the archipelago having a tundra climate.
The Secret Lagoon natural hot springs are located in a small village called Flúðir, a part of the Golden Circle area. It is the oldest swimming pool in Iceland, but the facilities have been fully renovated in the recent years. They added a showering area, a small bar and a dining area where snacks and drinks are available for purchase. At the Secret Lagoon, watch the steam as it rises in the air while you relax in the warm water.
The tour continues to Restaurant Grund, where we will enjoy a variety of Icelandic foods at their delicious dinner buffet before going on a thrilling hunt for the Northern Lights. Our excellent guides are extremely experienced when it comes to finding the Northern Lights. They will look for the best viewing conditions and take you there whil you sit back and relax.
Duration: 6-7 hours
Please note: Remember to bring a swimsuit and a towel. Swimsuit and towels can also be rented on location. Sightings of the Northern Lights are not guaranteed, and if no Northern Lights are seen during the tour no refund or complimentary tours are offered.

* Passengers missing their pick up must arrive at the GLI bus terminal in good time to check in for their tour or transfer.
