Introduction:

NYC Trinity Church

The Trinity Church located in Manhattan, New York, was built in 1846 and continues to be an operating and historical church. The Trinity Church had been in the works originally since 1696, when Governor Benjamin Fletcher approved the purchase of land (which is now lower Manhattan), for construction of a church. The first Trinity Church was built in 1698, and later perished in the Great New York City Fire of 1776, which destroyed nearly 500 buildings. The Trinity Church was rebuilt in 1788, but was torn down in 1839 after being weakened by snow storms. The third and current Trinity Church was finished in 1846 and was designed by architect Richard Upjohn. It was an example of Gothic architecture and has a cemetery on the premise, as well as a tower that contains 23 bell towers.

Wall Street

This .7-mile-long street running eight blocks from Broadway to South streets in Lower Manhattan is synonymous with New York's Financial District and big business in the United States. Wall Street was laid out in 1685 and was the site of many historic moments including the 1789 inauguration of President George Washington, 1792 Buttonwood Agreement creating the New York Stock Exchange and the 1929 Stock Market Crash. Points of interest are the New York Stock Exchange, Federal Hall National Memorial, Deutsche Bank, Federal Reserve Gold Vault, Trinity Church and the Charging Bull statue.

One World Trade Center

Also known as Freedom Tower, this 1,776-foot tall skyscraper is the tallest building in the United States and the main structure for the new World Trade Center complex. After the 9/11 terrorist attacks destroyed the original World Trade Center Twin Towers located south of the new site, a plan to rebuild in memoriam of the tragedy was developed and construction began in 2006 with steel from the original building placed in the base. The 104-story One World Trade Center designed by David M. Childs has office space, retail stores, restaurants and an observation deck. A bronze monument dedicated to the response of military special forces members after September 11 stands in front of the building.

Statue of Liberty

This 305-foot tall iconic emblem of the United States and freedom was designed by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and has welcomed immigrants to "The Land of Opportunity" for centuries on its perch on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. The Statue of Liberty was given to the United States as a gift from France in 1896 because the two countries were allies during the American Revolution. Lady Liberty depicts the Roman Goddess of Freedom Libertas and the shackles on her feet represent oppression. The Neoclassical statue had to be separated into 350 pieces to be shipped to the United States. Don't forget to read the unforgettable Emma Lazarus poem engraved on the U.S. National Historic Landmark statue's base.

Times Square

Referred to as "The Center of the Universe" and "The Crossroads of the World," Times Square is the world's most popular tourist attraction welcoming more than 39 million people to the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan every year. Dozens of electronic signs and the Broadway Theatre District's bright lights illuminate the plaza where there's always excitement in the air and a buzz of activity amongst the collection of stores, restaurants, theaters, attractions and street performers. Times Square was originally called Longacre Square until the iconic newspaper "The New York Times" moved there in 1904.

Metropolitan Museum Of Art

The largest museum in the United States and one of the biggest in the world has more than two million art works ranging from prehistoric times to the present. The Metropolitan Museum of Art opened in 1870 and its 2 million-square-foot building is located in New York City's Central Park. Its vast collection includes approximately 15,000 American works, 2,500 European paintings, 36,000 Egyptian pieces, 12,000 Islamic objects and 35,000 costumes. A 64,500-square-foot wing is dedicated to Asian art. The museum is visited by approximately 4.7 million people per year.

The mostly copper Liberty Bell was made in 1752 by British firm White Chapel Foundry with the the Bible verse "Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the Land unto all the inhabitants thereof" engraved on it. The White House was designed by architect James Hoban and contains 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms, eight staircases and three elevators. Before U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt officially named it the White House in 1901, it was called "The President's House," "The President's Palace" and "Executive Mansion." Various presidents have had the structure renovated and restored throughout the decades. The White House displays many fine pieces of art including paintings, sculptures and furnishings.

Very exciting and memorable tour.
Very exciting and memorable tour. This tour is ideal for people who want to visit many places in limited time. The tour guide gave her best in the whole trip. Hotel stay was comfortable. We tasted the best food during the trip. Never forget the taste of lobster meal in Boston. I enjoyed the jet boat we had at Niagara River. I am happy for choosing this bus company. Thanks for making our days lovely.
