Day 1: Grand Canyon Railway from Flagstaff

At the most famous natural wonder of the world, you'll discover the millions of years that it took to carve out this massive canyon with And in a place like the Grand Canyon, there can be a lot to see and so many different ways to see it. Actually two separate parks, the Grand Canyon is divided into the Grand Canyon National Park which houses the North, South, and East Rim, and Grand Canyon West Rim which is managed by the Hualapai Nation Reservation and features the thrilling Skywalk. Cameron Trading Post
Established in 1916 by brothers Hubert and C.D. Richardson, this site along the Little Colorado River Gorge was originally a marketplace for Navajo and Hopi tribes. The attraction has a motel and restaurant in addition to its extensive gift shop carrying Native American arts and crafts. This Southwestern treasure located just a half-hour away from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon will give you a cultural experience like no other.
This morning we'll take you from Flagstaff to Williams, where you will board the historic Grand Canyon Railway.
Each car of this railroad - which made its maiden voyage in 1901 - has been restored to its original state, and the crew members all have information to share about the train, it's history and many journeys.
Along the way, you'll travel through pine forests while enjoying the melodies of strolling musicians. You'll ride the train one-way to the Grand Canyon, where upon your arrival at approximately 12:15 pm, you'll have time to explore the South Rim of the park.
Later in the day, you'll visit our favorite viewpoints along the canyon's East Rim. Next, it's on to the Navajo Indian Reservation and a stop to the historic Cameron Trading Post where you can browse and shop among the many fine crafts, jewelry and other hand-made goods.
Return to Flagstaff at approximately 5:00-5:30 pm.

Remember that the Grand Canyon is 25-30°F cooler than Phoenix and vary by season, so we recommend our guests bring jackets in the event of changing weather patterns. Sedona is about 10-15 degrees cooler than the Phoenix area.
