Great experience
During my time in Los Angeles, I did all four studio tours offered locally (Universal, Warner, Paramount and Sony). Everyone had their strengths and weaknesses. Universal (unlike the other three) was more focused on theme parks and entertainment, you could only really see the studios or set from the bus. We at least drove past a real production there. At Warner you could walk through real sets (buildings), get a lot of background information and then take some nice photos on the sets of Big Bang Theory and Friends. It was similar at Paramount, where you could walk through the sets of a recreated New York and get a real look behind the scenes and then walk through a museum. At Sony, the highlight of the tour was without a doubt the recording studio where John Williams & Co recorded their music. Anyone expecting real sets or stars on the tours will be disappointed - a lot of it is just told.
