Introduction:

NYC Trinity Church

The Trinity Church located in Manhattan, New York, was built in 1846 and continues to be an operating and historical church. The Trinity Church had been in the works originally since 1696, when Governor Benjamin Fletcher approved the purchase of land (which is now lower Manhattan), for construction of a church. The first Trinity Church was built in 1698, and later perished in the Great New York City Fire of 1776, which destroyed nearly 500 buildings. The Trinity Church was rebuilt in 1788, but was torn down in 1839 after being weakened by snow storms. The third and current Trinity Church was finished in 1846 and was designed by architect Richard Upjohn. It was an example of Gothic architecture and has a cemetery on the premise, as well as a tower that contains 23 bell towers.

Wall Street was laid out in 1685 and was the site of many historic moments including the 1789 inauguration of President George Washington, 1792 Buttonwood Agreement creating the New York Stock Exchange and the 1929 Stock Market Crash. Points of interest are the New York Stock Exchange, Federal Hall National Memorial, Deutsche Bank, Federal Reserve Gold Vault, Trinity Church and the Charging Bull statue.

Times Square

Referred to as "The Center of the Universe" and "The Crossroads of the World," Times Square is the world's most popular tourist attraction welcoming more than 39 million people to the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan every year. Dozens of electronic signs and the Broadway Theatre District's bright lights illuminate the plaza where there's always excitement in the air and a buzz of activity amongst the collection of stores, restaurants, theaters, attractions and street performers.
