Pompeii

Pompeii is an ancient city in campania on the southwestern tip of the apennine peninsula, about 240 kilometers from Rome, located near Naples in southern Italy, 10 kilometers southeast of mount Vesuvius. To the west, about 20 kilometers from the beautiful bay of Naples, is a summer resort with mountains and sea on its back.Founded in the 6th century BC, it was destroyed by the eruption of mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.However, because of the volcanic ash, the streets and houses are relatively intact. Since 1748, archaeological excavations have continued to this day, providing important information for understanding the social life, culture and art of ancient Rome.In May 2015, archaeologists and scientists restored fossils of Pompeii residents buried under volcanic ash thousands of years ago.In June 2016, Pompeii was named one of the world's top 10 tomb treasures.

Naples

Naples is the largest city in the south of Italy.Mount Vesuvius is 1,281 meters above sea level, southeast of the city of Naples. It is an active volcano that has erupted many times throughout its history, most famously in the massive eruption of A.D. 79, when scorching pyroclastic flows wiped out the city of Pompeii.Observatories were built near the volcano. The most beautiful part of Naples is the beautiful Santa Lucia coast. The sunrise here is very beautiful. You can see mount Vesuvius across the bay of Naples.Built in the 17th century as the residence of the viceroy and the king, the palace of Naples is now the national library, neuburg and the national gallery.

Tour Overview:

Your Wednesday morning starts at the ancient city of Pompeii, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius in the Gulf of Naples. Pompeii was buried in volcanic ash when the volcano erupted in 79 AD, until its excavation in the eighteenth century. After this you drive along part of the lemon-scented Amalfi coast, often referred to as the most beautiful in the world. You head on to Naples, the largest city in southern Italy and enjoy the city's attractions.
