Day 1: New York - Watkins Glen State Park - Niagara Falls

Introduction:

Watkins Glen State Park

The highlight of this Upstate New York park in the Finger Lakes region is the glen's stream flowing down a 400-foot deep gorge creating 19 waterfalls. There are three trails and 800-plus stone steps enabling visitors to get the best view of the area's natural wonders. Watkins Glen State Park was created in 1863 and management was taken over by the state in 1906. It offers camping sites, picnic equipment and a pool.

Secret Cavern

Corning Museum of Glass

Like its collection of exhibits, this Corning, New York nonprofit museum's sparkling structure celebrates the brilliance of glass and was built in 1951 as a gift to the people from Corning Glass Works, now Corning Inc., for its 100th anniversary. Corning Museum of Glass contains more than 45,000 glass artifacts with some 3,500-plus years old and has glass-making presentations, Make-Your-Own-Glass workshops, archives on the history of glass and many exhibits. View the elegance and beauty of centuries-old and modern glass art.

Niagara Falls

Every year this natural wonder attracts more than 12 million visitors from all over the world looking to see the gorgeous Niagara Falls. Actually composed of three massive waterfalls -Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls - Niagara Falls straddle the border between the United States and Canada. Niagara Falls tours run throughout the year, whether rain or shine or snow. Spring and summer are the most popular times to visits as the famous Maid of the Mist cruise runs seasonal and gets visitors up close and personal with the falls. However, even in winter the falls are a sight to see, as the normal 85,000 cu ft/s flow of water can become a frozen wonderland. Even with the cruise closed in winter there is still many tours of Niagara Falls, especially for the gorgeous Niagara Falls Illumination Show. Throughout there year visitors can also enjoy day trips to Goat Island, which offers sweeping views of Horseshoe Falls and Bridal Veil Falls; the Cave of the Winds tour, which brings summer visitors as close as 30 feet from Bridal Veil Falls; and the IMAX feature presentation at Niagara Adventure Theater.

Tour Overview:

Guests will be picked up in New Jersey and New York early in the morning. We will head north to Watkins Glen State Park located in upstate New York. Following, we will go to Niagara Falls and to overlook the American Falls, Horseshoe Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls. You will be easily astounded by the deafening roar of the falls. CN Tower

The CN Tower is a 553.3 m-high (1,815.3 ft) concrete communications and observation tower located in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Built on the former Railway Lands, it was completed in 1976. Its name "CN" originally referred to Canadian National, the railway company that built the tower. Following the railway's decision to divest non-core freight railway assets prior to the company's privatization in 1995, it transferred the tower to the Canada Lands Company, a federal Crown corporation responsible for real estate development.

The CN Tower held the record for the world's tallest free-standing structure for 32 years until 2007 when it was surpassed by the Burj Khalifa and was the world's tallest tower until 2009 when it was surpassed by the Canton Tower. It is now the ninth tallest free-standing structure in the world and remains the tallest free-standing structure on land in the Western Hemisphere. In 1995, the CN Tower was declared one of the modern Seven Wonders of the World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. It also belongs to the World Federation of Great Towers.

It is a signature icon of Toronto's skyline and attracts more than two million international visitors annually.

Great experience!
I was very happy with this excursion. Six months ago I separated and decided to make a trip alone. It didn't take me long to decide on this proposal. I came back refreshed!

Great experience
Great way to experience Niagara and 1000 Island. Too many little stops. Skip the Toronto Mall and more time at Distillery. Bus driver and guide were great. I was little surprised that tour was 50 person bus - too large of a group but guides did great. Good value.
