Day 3: Page - Antelope Canyon - Lake Powell - Las Vegas

Introduction:

Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon, located in the heart of Arizona’s Navajo land, is a breathtaking slot canyon known for its stunning, otherworldly beauty. Carved by centuries of flash floods, the canyon features narrow passageways and dramatic, wave-like rock formations that appear to dance with light. Visitors are captivated by the play of sunlight filtering through the canyon’s curves, creating vibrant orange, red, and purple hues on the canyon walls. The canyon is divided into two sections, Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon, each offering a unique experience, with the Upper being more accessible and the Lower providing a more adventurous trek. A guided tour is required, ensuring both safety and an in-depth understanding of this natural wonder’s history and geology.

Lake Powell

This 186-mile long stunning crystal blue lake between Utah and Arizona is visited by more than two million people annually as part of Glen Canyon Recreation Area. Lake Powell is the second largest man-made lake in the United States, was produced by the flooding of Glen Canyon from the Glen Canyon Dam beginning in the 1960s and named after the Colorado River's 1869 explorer John Powell. Miles of sandy beaches, colorful red-rock formations, countless activities and more than 90 canyons make this site a top vacation destination. Fodor's Travel named the lake one of "The World's 20 Most Beautiful Lakes" in 2013.

Tour Overview:

Antelope Canyon is one of the top ten sites in all of the world for photography! It consists of the upper and lower canyons; the upper canyon is the Navajo word for "water through the rocks" and lower canyon means "arch-shaped spiral rock." In here, visitors are always amazed by this wavy canyon rock formation! It is a true natural beauty! Enjoy a scenic ride on the Colorado Plateau towards Lake Powell National Recreation Area.

An Unforgettable Adventure Across the Southwest
This tour exceeded my expectations! The Grand Canyon was absolutely stunning, and I’m so glad I opted for the helicopter ride – it’s an experience I’ll never forget. Horseshoe Bend was breathtaking, and I was amazed by the natural beauty at Antelope Canyon. The trip from Las Vegas to Los Angeles was also a lot of fun, with plenty of time to shop at the outlets. The tour guides were very friendly and informative, and they made the long drives enjoyable. The only thing I would have liked was a little more time at some of the attractions, but overall, it was a well-paced and unforgettable tour.

A Great Mix of Nature and City Life
This tour was fantastic! The first two days were filled with breathtaking landscapes at the Grand Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. Antelope Canyon was definitely a highlight; the colors and shapes of the canyon were unlike anything I’ve seen. Las Vegas was fun, especially the night tour and the famous attractions like M&M World. The trip was well-paced, and we had enough time to explore. I also really enjoyed the Seven Magic Mountains stop on the way back to LA. My only complaint was that I wish we had a bit more time at Lake Powell, but it was still a great experience overall.

Amazing Grand Canyon Views and Fun in Vegas
This was an incredible trip! The highlight for me was definitely the Grand Canyon, both the South and East Rims. The helicopter ride was optional but worth it for a unique perspective of the Canyon. The stops at Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon were just stunning – like something out of a dream! The time spent in Las Vegas was also a blast, especially the night tour. The whole tour was well-organized, and our guide was super knowledgeable. I loved the mix of natural beauty and fun attractions. Highly recommend this trip if you’re looking for a bit of everything!
