Rome

Naples
Naples is the largest city in the south of Italy.Mount Vesuvius is 1,281 meters above sea level, southeast of the city of Naples.It is an active volcano that has erupted many times throughout its history, most famously in the massive eruption of A.D. 79, when scorching pyroclastic flows wiped out the city of Pompeii.Observatories were built near the volcano.The most beautiful part of Naples is the beautiful Santa Lucia coast. The sunrise here is very beautiful. You can see mount Vesuvius across the bay of Naples.Built in the 17th century as the residence of the viceroy and the king, the palace of Naples is now the national library, neuburg and the national gallery.

Day 2: Sorrento - Capri Island - Blue Grotto - Sorrento (45 km)
Sorrento – perched on dramatic tuff cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples; an ideal base for Capri and the Amalfi Coast.
Capri Island – a famed retreat for Roman emperors, artists and the wealthy, celebrated for sapphire-blue waters and luxury villas.
-Sorrento Ferry Pier: take an optional ferry to Capri (about 40 minutes).
-Blue Grotto: take an optional small boat (about 15 minutes) to this must-see sea cave, famous for its dreamlike glowing blue water—often called the “Mediterranean Sapphire”.

Day 3: Sorrento - Amalfi Coast - Positano - Amalfi (65 km)

Positano – the jewel of the Amalfi Coast, often called one of the most romantic towns on the Mediterranean; famous for its vertical landscape and pastel houses.
Amalfi Town – once an independent Maritime Republic, now a charming seaside resort with a strong historic atmosphere.
-Cathedral of Saint Andrew: the most iconic church on the coast, blending Romanesque, Byzantine, Gothic and Baroque elements.

Day 4: Amalfi - Caserta - Tivoli - Rome (310 km)
Caserta – built by order of King Charles VII of the Bourbon dynasty to rival Versailles and Spain’s Royal Palace of Madrid.
-Royal Palace of Caserta: one of Europe’s largest 18th-century palaces, designed by Luigi Vanvitelli—over 1,200 rooms, 24 grand halls, 1,742 windows and about 47,000 m² of floor area, with lavish Baroque and Neoclassical decoration.
Tivoli – Villa d’Este (“Hundred Fountains”): famed for its gardens with 500+ spectacular fountains and waterfalls; a UNESCO World Heritage Site (inscribed 2001) and a filming location of Bruce Lee’s classic movie.
-Avenue of the Hundred Fountains: lined with hundreds of small fountains and sculptures featuring eagles, lilies and boat motifs—showcasing remarkable engineering and artistry.
-Oval Fountain: a masterpiece of late Renaissance water-garden design, mimicking natural landscapes with cascades flowing into a giant semi-oval basin for a dramatic visual impact.
-Dragon Fountain: four dragon sculptures spouting powerful jets, built to commemorate Pope Gregory XIII’s visit (whose coat of arms features a dragon).
