Day 1: Small Group Sedona Red Rock and Native American Ruins Day Tour

Introduction:

Red Rock Park

Spectacular colors, dramatic cliffs and fascinating rock formations make this California state park situated between the Sierra Nevada and El Paso mountains the perfect natural setting for sightseeing and recreational activities. The 27,000-acre Red Rock Canyon State Park was created in 1968 and its region was a settlement for the Kawaiisu Native Americans and a thoroughfare for many pioneers. It has been used as a filming location for many movies including "The Outlaw," "The Big Country," "Jurassic Park," "The Mummy," and "Savages."

Sedona

The scenic Arizona city surrounded by stunning glowing red rock formations offers many art galleries, unique shops and restaurants with a Southwestern or Native American influence. Sedona attracts many visitors for its shopping, spas, spiritual retreats and mountain activities. It was founded in 1902 and named after Sedona Schnebly, the wife of the city's first postmaster. Popular Sedona sites are Cathedral Rock, Coffee Pot Rock, Bell Rock and Chapel of the Holy Cross.

The Sedona Red Rocks tour gives you a chance to explore ancient Native American ruins, marvel at spectacular landscapes, and explore the local artisans of Sedona and the surrounding area. This day trip features an ancient Native American dwelling from the Sinagua Tribe that existed along this busy trade route between 1250AD – 1425AD. During our tour, we will explore the ruins at Montezuma Castle National Monument, one of the best-preserved Sinagua cliff dwellings in North America dating back around 1,000 years.

Following our time at Montezuma Castle, the tour will begin to explore the mystique surrounding Sedona with options ranging from cultural and spiritual to adventurous and active. You will enjoy views of the famous red rock features of Bell Rock, Airport Mesa, and Chapel of the Holy Cross. You will also be treated to views of Cathedral Rock, Snoopy Rock, and Submarine Rock, to name a few. In uptown Sedona, you can explore on foot the many art galleries and shops, get a psychic reading, or enjoy the serenity that Sedona provides with a glass of wine on the balcony. Guests will also have the option of experiencing Tlaquepaque, an outdoor arts & crafts village full of art galleries, craft shops, cobblestone paths & decorative arches. Shopping and galleries not your thing? Alternate choices available to you as add-ons are either off-road jeep tours or guided hikes. Both options offer a more immersive backcountry experience among the famous Red Rock backdrop. After your memorable day in this famous Red Rock landscape, relax on your two hour drive back to Phoenix/Scottsdale.

Sedona with Sam
Sam is excellent tour guide. Had a wonderful day. Wish they picked me up at my hotel as opposed to having to go to another hotel.

Sedona and ancient cliff dwelling day trip
Our trip was wonderful. Nickie our guide was informative and entertaining. We had many Insta moments along the way to Sedona, with Montezuma's Castle being a highlight. Our group consisted of two parties totaling 5 people. We all got individual attention, water and even umbrellas when the skies threatened. Highly recommend

Great experience
Guide was great. Views were fantastic. Ample time to send at all the stops. Only complaints are not enough pickup points since it leaves from the north of phoenix. Had to spend 100 plus on Uber since we were staying in Goodyear. Still worth the money and recommended

Awesome experience
Shannon is a gem! We thoroughly enjoyed her insights into the landscapes and Navaho culture. She went above and beyond to customize our tour to make it a memorable experience. The ride was comfortable and the large shuttle van windows gave us access to amazing views.
