Day 1: Great Salt Lake- Utah State Capito- Temple Square of Mormon Church

Introduction:

Salt Lake City

Utah's capital is the state's most populated city and is bordered by The Great Salt Lake, Wasatch Mountains and Oquirrh Mountains. Salt Lake City was founded in 1848 by Mormons and contains the home base of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Skiing and other winter sports are popular during the winter with many world class resorts in and around the city and its alpine mountain peaks. Rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking bring visitors in the warmer months. Salt Lake City's most popular attraction is the 10-acre Temple Square containing the majestic Salt Lake Temple.

Utah State Capitol

The beautiful Corinthian structure located in Salt Lake City underwent a major restoration project from 2004-08 and contains Utah state government offices. The Utah State Capitol that opened in 1916 was designed by architect Richard Kletting is filled with important art, historic relics and many sculptures. Notable attractions are the state House and Senate chambers, Supreme Court chambers, visitor center and the interior of the rotunda. The Capitol Hill grounds also feature a reflection pool and office buildings as well as monuments to state law enforcement, Mormon Battalion and the Vietnam War.

Temple Square

This stunning 35-acre site consisting of exquisite Mormon monuments and temples, historic landmarks, lush gardens and fine restaurants is Utah's most popular tourist attraction. Located in Downtown Salt Lake City, Temple Square was created in 1853 and welcomes three to five million visitors per year. Its centerpiece is the divine Salt Lake Temple that is the worshiping place of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Other points of interest of the U.S. National Historic Landmark are Salt Lake Tabernacle, Salt Lake Assembly Hall, Seagull Monument, Family History Library, Museum of Church History and Art, Mormon Pioneer Memorial Monument and its two visitor's centers.

Great Salt Lake

The largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere is located in Northern Utah and is about 75 miles long, but frequently oscillates. Great Salt Lake is what remains of the prehistoric 20,000-square-mile Lake Bonneville and is sometimes called "America's Dead Sea." The lake contains brine shrimp and its surrounding region is home to many birds and mammals. Antelope Island and Great Salt Lake state parks are situated on the body of water that is surrounded by pristine white sand beaches. Popular spots on the lake are Spiral Jetty, Black Rock, Great Salt Lake Marina, Kennecott Inland Sea Shorebird Reserve, Locomotive Springs and Bridger Bay Beach. The lake has a greater salinity than the ocean.

Utah State Capitol: the governor's office is located in inside of this building. Sitting on top of the Capitol Hill in Salt Lake City, this building gives you a full view of the city that surrounds it. It is also the icon of the most famous historic landmark of the state.

Temple Square of Mormon Church: this is the headquarter of the Mormon Church and its 15 million followers around the world. It's the center of Mormon history and the location of the famous Salt Lake Temple.

Great Salt Lake: Western Hemisphere's largest saltwater lake, also North America's largest inland Salt Lake. The lake is more than six times the salinity of seawater, thus known as "Dead Sea of America". Krill is a unique creature growing inside of the Great Salt Lake.

Yellowstone National Park: the very first national park in the whole world, Yellowstone attracted countless visitors over the year with its unique geothermal activities and fascinating wild life. You will find all four different kinds of geothermal activities, geyser, hot spring, fumarole and mud pot as we take you travel through the park.

Gibbon Falls: The falls were first described by William Henry Jackson during the second Hayden geological survey of 1872. There is no historical record as to how they got their name, but by the mid-1880s, they were routinely referred to as Gibbon Falls in both government and commercial accounts of the park.

Norris Basin: this is the most concentrated location of geothermal activities in Yellowstone National Park. While walking on the trail in this steamy fairyland, you'll be treated to a great view of all the hot springs along the way.

Day 2: Yellowstone National Park

Introduction:

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park, the America's first national park that was designated in 1872 boasts the largest geyser collection in the world including Old Faithful and is located in the U.S. states of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. Containing over 2 million acres, Yellowstone National Park is home to the largest high-altitude lake in North America and one of the biggest petrified forests in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park also features 290-plus waterfalls, more than 70 different mammals, 322 bird species, 1,100+ plant species, 12 campgrounds and 9 visitor's centers. There are plenty of bus, snowmobiling, hiking, bird watching, and horseback guided tours in Yellowstone National Park. A Yellowstone tour will bring you to popular sites such as Old Faithful Geyser, Yellowstone Lake, Mammoth Hot Springs, Grand Prismatic Spring, and much, much more! With so much to see and do, you'll need multiple days to explore this amazing national park with a Yellowstone vacation package.

Old Faithful

This natural wonder located in Upper Geyser Basin is certainly the most famous geyser in Yellowstone National Park and possibly the world with its eruptions occurring every 60-110 minutes spewing from 3,700-8,400 gallons of hot water anywhere from 106-184 feet in the air. Old Faithful was named during the Washburn Expedition of 1870 because of its predictability of eruptions that can last as long as five minutes. The nearby U.S. National Historic Landmark Old Faithful Inn and other unique structures are located within the Old Faithful Historic District.

Tour Overview:

We will continue our tour inside Yellowstone National Park, and Stay overnight at West Yellowstone.

The Roosevelt Arch is a rusticated triumphal arch at the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park in Gardiner, Montana, United States. Constructed under the supervision of the US Army at Fort Yellowstone, its cornerstone was laid down by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1903. The top of the arch is inscribed with a quote from the Organic Act of 1872, the legislation which created Yellowstone, which reads: "For the Benefit and Enjoyment of the People".

Tower Fall is a waterfall on Tower Creek in the northeastern region of Yellowstone National Park, in the U.S. state of Wyoming. Approximately 1,000 yards (910 m) upstream from the creek's confluence with the Yellowstone River, the fall plunges 132 feet (40 m). Its name comes from the rock pinnacles at the top of the fall. Tower Creek and Tower Fall are located approximately three miles south of Roosevelt Junction on the Tower-Canyon road.

Yellowstone Waterfall: you might see the waterfall from afar along the way, but we'll take you one step closer and give you a view right next to the waterfall to experience in person its power.

Artist Point is an overlook point on the edge of a cliff on the south rim of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The point is located east-northeast of Yellowstone Falls on the Yellowstone River. Artist Point was originally named in 1883 by Frank Jay Haynes who improperly believed that the point was the place at which painter Thomas Moran sketched his 1872 depictions of the falls. Later work determined that the sketches were made from the north rim, but the name Artist Point stuck.

Hayden Valley is a large, sub-alpine valley in Yellowstone National Park straddling the Yellowstone River between Yellowstone Falls and Yellowstone Lake. The valley floor along the river is an ancient lake bed from a time when Yellowstone Lake was much larger. The valley is well known as one of the best locations to view wildlife in Yellowstone.

Mud Volcano: one of the highest concentrations of onus pots in the national park. See the Mud Cauldron, Dragon mouth spring and Mud Volcano along with a chance of seeing some wild life in the area.

Fishing Bridge:  The original bridge was built in 1902.  The Fishing Bridge was historically a tremendously popular place to fish. Angling from the bridge was quite good, due to the fact that it was a major spawning area for cutthroat trout. It finally became to the best place to observe the Yellowstone Trout. Usually the trout will spawn in this area and jumping out the water during the summer time.

Old Faithful Geyser: the most famous landmark inside Yellowstone, it's also the logo of the national park. Erupting roughly every 91 minutes no matter the weather, this is a must see when you are inside Yellowstone.

Morning Glory Pool Trail: Discover more must-see attractions on the 'Natural Wonders'. This is an easy 1.4 mile (2.8 miles round trip) paved trail in the Upper Geyser Basin that passes by some of biggest geysers in the Upper Geyser Basin, coming to an end Morning Glory Pool. Castle, Grotto, and Riverside geysers are among the main features you'll see along the way.

Grand Prismatic Spring: the third largest hot spring in the world, it's the most renowned hot spring in the national park. Setting foot into the area will surround you with steam and allowing you an up-close view of the brilliant colors inside the hot spring.

Introduction:

Grand Teton National park

More than 300,000 acres of pristine wilderness awaits visitors to this Wyoming national park that was named after the highest summit in its Teton Mountain Range and has 200-plus miles of trails. Grand Teton National Park only included the Teton Mountains and six lakes when it was created back in 1929. It expanded throughout the years to include Jackson Hole National Monument, a 35,000-acre land donation from John D. Rockefeller Jr. and more federal property. The park's habitats are alpine, forests, sage brush and rivers, lakes and ponds with 61 species of mammals and 1,000-plus species of plants. Points of interest are the Snake River, Mount Moran, Jackson Lake, Grand Teton and Murie Ranch.

Jackson was traversed by explorer John Colter during the Lewis & Clark Expedition in 1807 and 1808. The city is a popular tourist spot thanks to its proximity Grand Teton, Yellowstone National Park, National Elk Refuge, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and other ski resorts. Jackson's Town Square entrance's all have antler archways

Tour Overview:

In the morning, we will head to Grand Teton National Park from Yellowstone.

Then want to the small town of Jackson, Wyoming, a famous frontier town during the Western development.

The West Thumb Geyser Basin including Potts Basin to the north, is the largest geyser basin on the shores of Yellowstone Lake. The heat source of the thermal features in this location is thought to be relatively close to the surface, only 10,000 feet (3,000 m) down. West Thumb is about the same size as another famous volcanic caldera, Crater Lake in Oregon, but much smaller than the great Yellowstone Caldera which last erupted about 640,000 years ago. West Thumb is a caldera within a caldera.

Grand Teton National Park: one of the most beautiful national parks with its snow-covered mountain peaks year-round and wide range of wild life ecosystem. It even attracted great writer Ernest Hemingway to fall in love with this place and had been the backdrop for countless Western movies.

Jackson, WY: famous frontier town, located at the crossing of Grand Teton and Rocky Mountains, it became a heaven for outdoors sports enthusiast. It is also the third largest artwork exchange location in the world and a popular vacation destination for the wealthy. The widely praised Elk Antler Arches Park, with its four arches made with thousands of elk antlers is a must see.
