Day 2: Elko - Yellowstone National Park - West Yellowstone

Introduction:

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park, the America's first national park that was designated in 1872 boasts the largest geyser collection in the world including Old Faithful and is located in the U.S. states of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. Containing over 2 million acres, Yellowstone National Park is home to the largest high-altitude lake in North America and one of the biggest petrified forests in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park also features 290-plus waterfalls, more than 70 different mammals, 322 bird species, 1,100+ plant species, 12 campgrounds and 9 visitor's centers. There are plenty of bus, snowmobiling, hiking, bird watching, and horseback guided tours in Yellowstone National Park. Old Faithful

This natural wonder located in Upper Geyser Basin is certainly the most famous geyser in Yellowstone National Park and possibly the world with its eruptions occurring every 60-110 minutes spewing from 3,700-8,400 gallons of hot water anywhere from 106-184 feet in the air. Old Faithful was named during the Washburn Expedition of 1870 because of its predictability of eruptions that can last as long as five minutes. The nearby U.S. National Historic Landmark Old Faithful Inn and other unique structures are located within the Old Faithful Historic District.

Introduction:

Grand Teton National park

More than 300,000 acres of pristine wilderness awaits visitors to this Wyoming national park that was named after the highest summit in its Teton Mountain Range and has 200-plus miles of trails. Grand Teton National Park only included the Teton Mountains and six lakes when it was created back in 1929. It expanded throughout the years to include Jackson Hole National Monument, a 35,000-acre land donation from John D. Rockefeller Jr. and more federal property. The park's habitats are alpine, forests, sage brush and rivers, lakes and ponds with 61 species of mammals and 1,000-plus species of plants. Points of interest are the Snake River, Mount Moran, Jackson Lake, Grand Teton and Murie Ranch.

Jackson

Often confused with the valley of Jackson Hole, this Wyoming cowboy town is located five miles from the scenic Grand Teton National Park. Jackson was traversed by explorer John Colter during the Lewis & Clark Expedition in 1807 and 1808. The city is a popular tourist spot thanks to its proximity Grand Teton, Yellowstone National Park, National Elk Refuge, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and other ski resorts. Jackson's Town Square entrance's all have antler archways

Today we will continue to explore Yellowstone National Park this morning! Afterwards, we travel along the Snake River and arrive at Grand Teton National Park, where we see nature’s true wonders with an amazing view. Following, we will drive to Jackson, a famous cowboy town as well as a world’s renowned vacation destination. Be sure to visit the Elk Antler Arches Square which is located in the center of Jackson!

Salt Lake City

Utah's capital is the state's most populated city and is bordered by The Great Salt Lake, Wasatch Mountains and Oquirrh Mountains. Salt Lake City was founded in 1848 by Mormons and contains the home base of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Skiing and other winter sports are popular during the winter with many world class resorts in and around the city and its alpine mountain peaks. Rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking bring visitors in the warmer months. Salt Lake City's most popular attraction is the 10-acre Temple Square containing the majestic Salt Lake Temple.

Tour Overview:

On this lovely morning, we will depart for the Great Salt Lake State Marina which is also known as “America’s Dead Sea.” Following, we will drive to Capitol Hill and visit the most expensive and magnificent State House in America, the Utah State Capitol! Then, we will take a walk in the State Capitol building, to explore the architecture, sculptures and the rich history behind it. In addition, we will explore Temple Square! Here, we will follow the Mormon Missionary sisters’ lead and see the virtue kingdom for LDS church. We will learn all about the history and teachings of the LDS Church. Finally, we will arrive at Canyonlands National Park.

Introduction:

Arches National Park

This 36,359-acre Utah national park situated along the Colorado River features more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches including its most photographed Delicate Arch. Arches National Park's landscape has been forming and changing for millions of years. It was made a national park in 1971 being previously named a national monument in 1929. Points of interest are Delicate Arch, Wolfe Ranch, Courthouse Wash Panel, Elephant Butte, Courthouse Towers, The Organ, Fiery Furnace, Balanced Rock and Landscape Arch. The book "Desert Solitaire" was written by author Edward Abbey from his journals during his time as a park ranger.

Monument Valley

The stunning region on the Colorado Plateau if often filmed and photographed to portray the American West and was a favorite movie shoot location for director John Ford's many Westerns. Monument Valley features an artistic mix of colorful red sandstone formations up to 1,000 feet tall, vast desert lands and scenic horizons. The majority of it is within the 30,000-acre Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park created in 1958 and is located on the Utah and Arizona border. Monument Valley notable landmarks are the former Goulding Trading Post, Totem Pole, King on His Throne, West Mitten Butte, Three Sisters, The Hub and Rain God Mesa. The area also is near The Four Corners Monument.

In the morning we will be headed to the spectacular Arches National Park, where overlapping mountains surround winding canyons. Come and take some blockbuster photos of your own! After lunch, we will continue our trip to Monument Valley, where huge columnar monumental rocks stand sky high! Monument Valley is featured in many famous movies and advertisements. You may take a jeep tour to explore more about the valley at your own cost.

Introduction:

Antelope Canyon

The popular prismatic slot canyon is located on Navajo Native American land near Page, Arizona and is divided into upper and lower sections. Antelope Canyon was shaped by rainwater erosion of Navajo Sandstone and is only accessible through a guided tour. Often referred to as Corkscrew Canyon, this beautiful natural attraction features a rainbow of colors making it a favorite locations for photographers.

Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend is the meander of the Colorado River, located near the town of Page, Arizona, named after its Horseshoe shape. It is located in the Glen Canyon Recreational Area, 5 miles downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. Many come to see the Horseshoe Bend and overlook 42,000 feet on the Bend via the steep cliff above the meander.

Tour Overview:

Enjoy a scenic ride on the Colorado Plateau this morning towards Antelope Canyon! We will be passing by the Glen Canyon Dam, which holds back Lake Powell. Lake Powell is nation's second-largest artificial lake which is surrounded by 96 side canyons. Antelope Canyon is one of the top ten sites in the world for photography! It is composed of upper and lower canyons; the upper canyon is the Navajo word for "water through the rocks" and lower canyon means "arch-shaped spiral rock." Here, visitors are always amazed by this wavy canyon rock formation! Following, we will drive to Horseshoe Bend which is one of the top ten locations in the United States for photography by National Geographic! Next we will drive to Lake Powell and enjoy a boat tour on this picturesque lake surrounded by blue sky and red rock canyons! Finally, we will arrive at the world’s capital for Entertainment in Las Vegas in the afternoon.

3. Additional hotel bookings before or after the tour as well as other services are subject to hotel cancellation policy to determine if a refund is possible.

4. In the event of weather, war, strikes and other force majeure that make it impossible to tour, The local tour company will try its best to protect the safety of guests and their property. The local tour company reserves the right to cancel or adjust part or all of the itinerary, and will not bear any direct or indirect responsibility caused by force majeure. The paid tour fee is non-refundable.

5. Regarding the "buy two get two free" promotion, the Cancellation & Re-schedule Policy for the third and fourth roommates who will be given away for free are as follows:

   a.  Early cancellation: If the first two guests participate in the group as usual, if the third and fourth guests who participate for free in the same room request to cancel their seats more than 9 days before the departure, they can enjoy free cancellation without any penalty.
   b.  Temporary cancellation within 9 days before departure: If the first two guests participate normally, and the third and fourth guests who participate for free in the same room cancel within 9 days before the departure, or if they do not show on the day of departure, we will charge a penalty of 50% of the original price of a room for two people for each temporary cancellation.
   c.  If the penalty is temporarily cancelled within 9 days before departure but not paid in full, or if it is NO SHOW on the day of participation, we will collect the above-mentioned penalty amount from the first and second participating guests in the order on the day of participation. If customers of the same order refuse to pay, it will be considered as unpaid group payment, and our company has the right to cancel all reservations for that order.
