Introduction:

Crazy Horse

Crazy Horse was a Lakota war leader of the Oglala band in the 19th century. He took up arms against the United States federal government to fight against encroachment by white American settlers on Native American territory and to preserve the traditional way of life of the Lakota people. His participation in several famous battles of the Black Hills War on the northern Great Plains, among them the Fetterman Fight in 1866 in which he acted as a decoy and the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876 in which he led a war party to victory, earned him great respect from both his enemies and his own people.

Mount Rushmore National Park

The epic 5,725-foot tall monument features the 60-foot granite carved faces of the four United States presidents of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Mount Rushmore National Memorial was sculpted by Gutzon Borglum and his son Lincoln Borglum between 1927-39 and the idea was thought up by historian Doane Robinson to bring tourists to the Black Hills area of South Dakota. The concept worked as the national landmark on 1,278 acres is visited by almost three million people every year. Nearby related attractions include Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center, Presidential Trail and the Sculptor's Studio.

The tour was amazing! We have gone to 6 different states in a week. We've seen a lot of wildlife and interesting places. The tour guide is fair and accommodating. I'd recommend buying this tour if you're lazy to drive. Very nice hotels at B ig Sky Montana, but the hotel was bad in West Yellowstone. The other hotels were fair enough.

This was one of the best bus tours I've been on with this company. George was an awesome tour guide. He let us sit in front for the entire trip (Shhh... that's supposed to be a secret). We also traveled with a great group of people which , I believe, made it even so much more enjoyable. The highlight for us was soaking in the hot springs pool after coming down from our long hike at Arches National Park. It was quite an experience for us being first time hikers. We almost gave up halfway through but it was so encouraging and inspiring to hike with someone who had a pacemaker and most likely twice our age. It didn't stop them from the hike so who were we to give up, right? =) I would definitely go on this tour again especially if they bring George back and give us another great birthday discount. I highly recommend this tour (if it's still available).

We didn't have to worry about anything about the trip. The tour guide picked us from the airport and guided us for the entire length of the trip. He is so knowledgeable about the geography along the road and told us many interesting stories about the foreign land we don't know. I highly recommend the tour for people who don't want to drive and plan the route themselves!
