Day 1: HORSESHOE BEND - ANTELOPE CANYON - LAS VEGAS
Leave bustling Las Vegas and head out on a scenic drive into Navajo territory on a van tour. Explore this striking landscape with the help of a local Navajo guide, learning about the area's rich and long history. See iconic natural landmarks like Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon.
Begin your tour with a stop for breakfast in St. George, Utah—home to the oldest continuously operating Mormon temple in the world.
After breakfast, approach the mighty Colorado River for a visit to Horseshoe Bend. Note where the river flows and meanders around the rocks creating a distinctive horseshoe-shaped loop beloved by visitors and photographers from around the world.
Next, travel to where “the water runs through the rocks” as per the local Navajo folklore. Explore Antelope Canyon and visit the spectacular dunes created by the wind, water, and sand.
With your local Navajo guide, discover the beauty of the canyon up close. Admire the beauty of the sun which creates shafts of light that shine through the slits in the canyon walls.
After a break for lunch, continue to the Glenn Canyon viewpoint for one last look at this spectacular area. Finally, hop back on the bus to return to Las Vegas in the evening.

Great Experience
Excellent trip.. great tour guides, couple of stairs for lower antelope that are high, caution for elderly or claustrophobic, slightly closed spaces at times at lower antelope canyon, very light straight trail for horshoebend and is highly recommended.
Great trip

Desert Dreams Come True!
This day trip from Vegas was pure magic! Witnessing the sunbeams dance through Antelope Canyon's narrow passages felt like watching nature's light show. Horseshoe Bend's majestic curve took my breath away - no photo does it justice! Our Navajo guide's storytelling made the landscape come alive with ancient wisdom.
Good service
Good attraction!!! Appointment is clear. Enjoying all the trip. I will be buy tour again next time. The price is fine.
What are the key differences between Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon experiences?
2025-11-29 21:10Upper Antelope Canyon is generally wider and easier to navigate, known for its famous sunbeams that pierce through the cracks during specific times of day in warmer months. It usually involves a short 4x4 ride to the entrance. Lower Antelope Canyon is narrower, deeper, and requires climbing down and up several ladders and stairs, offering a more adventurous experience with swirling sandstone formations and vibrant colors. Both require a guided tour.
Is visiting Lower Antelope Canyon worthwhile for first-time visitors?
2025-11-29 21:10Lower Antelope Canyon offers a truly unique and breathtaking experience, especially for first-time visitors. Its narrow, winding sandstone passages, sculpted by water and wind, create stunning light beams and intricate rock formations that are ideal for photography and nature appreciation. Many find the experience of navigating the slot canyon's ladders and uneven terrain to be an exciting adventure, making it a highly memorable destination.
What is the physical difficulty level for hiking through Lower Antelope Canyon?
2025-11-29 21:10The hike through Lower Antelope Canyon is moderately challenging. It involves descending into the canyon via several sets of stairs and ladders, some of which are steep. Once inside, the ground can be uneven, sandy, and rocky, with narrow sections. Visitors should be comfortable with walking, climbing, and navigating confined spaces. The total distance walked within the canyon is relatively short, but the vertical elements require a degree of physical agility.
How much time is typically spent exploring Lower Antelope Canyon during a guided tour?
2025-11-29 21:10During a guided tour, the actual time spent inside Lower Antelope Canyon typically ranges from 60 to 90 minutes. This duration allows for a comprehensive walk through the canyon, providing ample opportunity to appreciate the geological formations, take photographs, and learn about its history and features from the Navajo guide. The overall tour duration, including travel to and from the canyon, will be longer.
Is it possible to visit Lower Antelope Canyon without booking a guided tour?
2025-11-29 21:10No, visiting Lower Antelope Canyon requires booking a guided tour with an authorized Navajo tour company. Independent access is not permitted. This is due to the canyon's sacred status for the Navajo Nation and for visitor safety, especially concerning potential flash floods. Booking a tour ensures you have a knowledgeable guide who can share insights into the canyon's geology and cultural significance, and manage group flow effectively.
