This tour is not suitable for individuals with back problems, neck issues, or other serious medical conditions. Day 1: Secret Antelope Canyon Tour
Enjoy a scenic ride in a comfortable, enclosed vehicle as you journey through the Navajo landscape to this hidden gem. Once inside the canyon, marvel at the towering sandstone walls, swirling rock formations, and ever-changing light beams that create a photographer’s dream. With fewer crowds than other popular canyons, you’ll have plenty of time to soak in the serenity, capture incredible photos, and learn about the rich history and cultural significance of this sacred land from your knowledgeable Navajo guide. Perfect for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and photography enthusiasts, this tour offers an unforgettable experience in one of the most breathtaking slot canyons in the world.
Your adventure begins at the scheduled departure time, where you'll board our comfortable vehicle for a scenic ride to the canyon parking area.
Upon arrival, we’ll take a short 10-15 minute walk
(approximately 1,000 feet) through soft, sandy terrain to the canyon entrance. The walk into the canyon covers a total of 1 mile round trip. Along the way, your guide will provide fascinating insights about the area and assist with photo opportunities.
As we move through the canyon, the changing position of the sun will dramatically alter the lighting, creating an entirely new visual experience. This offers a second chance for unique photographs as we backtrack to the canyon entrance.
After exploring the canyon, we’ll retrace our steps along the 1,000-foot nature trail back to the parking area.
Return:
We’ll enjoy a scenic 20-minute drive back to our office, where your vehicle will be parked. Once we arrive, feel free to take your time gathering your belongings, ask any final questions, and this will mark the end of your guided adventure with us.

Fantastic tour with exceptional Navajo guide
We had an absolutely fantastic tour of Secret Antelope Canyon. Our Navajo guide, Erin, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience truly unforgettable. She shared fascinating information about the canyon's history, geology, and cultural significance while helping us capture amazing photos along the way. The canyon itself was breathtaking, and Erin's expertise made the visit even more special. Everything was well organized, and we felt welcomed from start to finish.
If you're visiting Page, Arizona, I highly recommend this tour and especially Erin as your guide.
Beautiful slot canyon
Beautiful slot canyon. Easy walking. No climbing ladders. Highly recommend!
Worth it!
The title is a little misleading: don't go to see Antelope Canyon, but rather Secret Canyon, which has the same characteristics as Antelope Canyon. The tour is very intimate and private, and the tour guide is very helpful. When you arrive at the meeting point, you will be loaded into a Jeep with a maximum of 6 passengers. It's a 20-minute drive to the canyon, followed by a 1.5-hour walk and then the return trip. Highly recommended!
Good place to visit !
Secret canyon was beautiful and we had the place to our small group for over an hour! Plenty of time to walk around and take pics. Gail was our tour guide and she’s not only knowledgeable, but also an awesome photographer and potential race car driver! The private horseshoe band tour is especially impressive! Beautiful view and away from the public. We enjoy the tour very much and highly recommend it to anyone who’s interested in something different!
What is the expected gratuity?
2025-12-08 20:00It is customary to tip the Navajo Guide between $3 and $5 per person.
What's the difference between Secret Antelope Canyon and Upper/Lower Antelope Canyon?
2025-12-08 20:00Secret Antelope Canyon (also known as "Canyon X" or "Amazing Canyon") is another independent slot canyon on private Navajo land. The main differences from the more famous Upper and Lower Antelope Canyons are: Less Crowded: Secret Antelope Canyon has a strictly limited number of visitors per visit, resulting in a quieter experience and easier photos without unwanted people.
Better Photography Experience: Tripods are usually allowed here (while Upper and Lower Canyons typically do not allow or have strict restrictions), and guides provide more time to help visitors capture beams of light and color.
Terrain Differences: It combines features of both Upper and Lower Canyons: it has sections requiring climbing stairs (Lower Antelope Canyon) and relatively flat areas (Upper Antelope Canyon).
Is it necessary to make an appointment in advance?
2025-12-08 20:00Yes, advance booking is required. Secret Antelope Canyon is located within the Navajo Reservation and can only be visited through licensed local Navajo guided tours. You cannot go there on your own.
When is the best time to visit? Can you see the "beams of light"?
2025-12-08 20:00The best time to visit depends on your goals: To appreciate the colors and tranquility: It can be visited any time of year, but spring and autumn offer the most comfortable weather.
To see the "light beams": Unlike Upper Antelope Canyon, Secret Antelope Canyon doesn't typically see the straight, vertical "light beams." Secret Antelope Canyon's light is softer and it's known for its rich colors, textures, and beautiful rock face curves. If you're determined to photograph the light beams, choose to visit Upper Antelope Canyon between April and September around midday.
How long does the tour typically take? Is there a physical requirement?
2025-12-08 20:00A typical Secret Antelope Canyon tour (including round-trip transportation, guided tour, and canyon visit) takes approximately 3 to 4.5 hours.
