Day 1: Combo - Secret Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend Overlook

Introduction:

Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend is the meander of the Colorado River, located near the town of Page, Arizona, named after its Horseshoe shape. It is located in the Glen Canyon Recreational Area, 5 miles downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. Many come to see the Horseshoe Bend and overlook 42,000 feet on the Bend via the steep cliff above the meander.

Tour Overview:

Boarding: Your adventure begins at the scheduled departure time, where you'll board our comfortable vehicle for a scenic ride to the canyon parking area.

Canyon Walk: Upon arrival, we’ll take a short 10-15 minute walk
(approximately 1,000 feet) through soft, sandy terrain to the canyon entrance. The walk into the canyon covers a total of 0.5 miles round trip. Along the way, your guide will provide fascinating insights about the area and assist with photo opportunities.

Exploring the Canyon: As we move through the canyon, the changing position of the sun will dramatically alter the lighting, creating an entirely new visual experience. This offers a second chance for unique photographs as we backtrack to the canyon entrance.

Return Walk: After exploring the canyon, we’ll retrace our steps along the 1,000-foot nature trail back to the parking area.

Horseshoe Bend Overlook: Next, we embark on a 20-minute scenic drive to the iconic Horseshoe Bend Overlook. From the parking area, it’s a short 200-foot walk down sturdy metal staircases to the breathtaking viewpoint.

Return to Office: After enjoying the overlook, we will take a short 10-minute drive back to our office, where guests can return to their vehicles.

    FABULOUS!!!!!
This was a FABULOUS tour!! Our tour guide, Loretta, was excellent! She was very knowledgable about the area, made sure everyone in the group had their cameras set properly to capture breathtaking pictures, and even took pictures of us on our cameras! The ride out to the canyon on the 4x4 was an experience. There were only 8 in the group which made it perfect to hear the information and capture the pictures I wanted. I went on this tour solo but everyone in the group was so nice and friendly. TAKE THIS TOUR!!!

    Highly recommend
This was an excellent tour. Our group was the only group in the canyon, and we had plenty of time to enjoy and take photos. Kennie was our guide, and she was wonderful. She took time to help everyone in the group get the best photos, and she shared insights into the Navajo culture. I highly recommend this tour.

    Great Adventure
Malcolm, our guide was very laid back and friendly. He showed us different parts of the canyon I don’t think I would have seen without this tour. The color striations were so neatly designed, as if an artist put them together. We took so many cool pictures! Our guide also knew how to capture the entire vertical view of the canyon with us in the middle. It was so cool!

    Best tour ever!
This was the best experience. Our guide, Kenny, was very knowledgable and easy to talk to. She had the best spots for pics and took so many of us. It was nice to be in a small group and worth the extra money. We had a group of 7 and we were in the secret canyon w just our group. Calm and peaceful! We heard the upper and lower canyon tours are getting a little crowded and didn’t want that. Horseshoe bend was also amazing- Kenny took us to a private spot and we were also the only 8 people there!
